Shelly Ranchanow – What Would You Do If You Ran The World?

This call focused on leadership with Shelly Rachanow, the author of What Would You Do If You Ran the World?

The tagline of her book is Everyday Ideas from Women Who Want To Make the World a Better Place.

Shelly Rachanow comes from a long line of butt-kicking women. Her grandmother raised four kids on her own and worked outside the home at a time when women weren’t supposed to do either. Her mother routinely fought for better sidewalks, programs, and laws for the disabled while still managing to have time for her children (not to mention dinner on the table) every night.

For several years, Shelly directed her butt-kicking energies into public service. As a political science major at The George Washington University, Shelly interned on Capital Hill, served on the leadership committees of several campus organizations, and graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Magna Cum Laude. She attended Emory University School of Law, where she managed to have a paper published (and then cited) even though she wasn’t on Law Review.

Not long ago, Shelly decided to follow her dream and move to California so she could write books that inspire and empower others to live the life of their dreams. She is thrilled that If Women Ran the World, Sh*t Would Get Done, her first book, is all about celebrating women and the fabulous things we do.
