One of my favorite things in the world to do is to go to Barnes and Noble and shop for leather journals.
Keeping a journal is one of the best investments of time. It allows you to revisit your perspectives on the past, something that many of us can’t remember from one day, week or month to the next.
Perspectives are often situational – masked with the emotion of the moment. But they are very telling.
I heard this in a TEDx talk yesterday:
“Education is what others do to us. Learning is what we do for ourselves.”
Journaling is learning.
Go shopping for a beautiful journal and a nice pen today. Document what goes on in your life – not the mundane, but the highs and the lows, the encounters and the discoveries. Keep them on a shelf and go back and read them from time to time.
Now I need to go and find an ingredient for our success soup that begins with the letter K.
