Tenacity – #22 of 25 Traits of the Fearless Entrepreneur

We are creatures of habit.  It is said that if you move your trash can, it will take you 21 days to hit the new location every time.
One a more serious front, in business the more we practice a good behavior,
the more it becomes a part of who we are. Successful, fearless entrepreneurs practice
successful habits.
Tenacity is both habit and a choice.
I am great at sticking to something all the
way through to completion.  Now that
doesn’t mean that I do it in a disciplined manner each day, breaking down tasks
over the period I have for a project or doing things serially.
I
was always the one that wrote the brilliant term paper the night before it was
due.
I still have those habits now in my
50s.  But I still produce brilliant work
for my clients, so I haven’t had the need to change that behavior.
I am working on my kids to instill a little
better sense of planning and timing and not building procrastination into the
program!

I will say that if a project takes staying up all night to
complete (either due to my own procrastination or due to someone dropping their
end of a bargain to get work done), that is one of the unfortunate habits that
I have developed.
I get a lot done once
my family is in bed, but that doesn’t serve me well on the health side of the
equation, so it is not a habit I would recommend.
When was the last time that you evaluated your habits in light of your goals?  Are they a match?
